Instructions
- Melt the Candy Melts: Place the green Wilton chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave for 30-40 seconds. Stir thoroughly until smooth and free of lumps.
- Fill the Molds: Using a teaspoon, scoop about one teaspoon of melted chocolate into each half-circle mold cavity, carefully spreading the chocolate up the sides to create a hollow shell. Repeat until all molds are filled.
- Flatten the Tops: Use a cake scraper to gently pull across the filled molds to smooth and level the chocolate, making the tops flat and even.
- Set the Chocolate: Let the molds sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes to harden, or place them in the freezer for 10 minutes for faster setting. Once set, carefully pop the half spheres out of the molds.
- Heat the Pan: Warm a small saucepan over medium heat until very warm but not smoking.
- Assemble the Spheres: Working two halves at a time, place one half-circle down on the warm pan and quickly press its flat side together with another half-circle, using your fingers to wipe away any excess melted chocolate drips. Hold until the two halves stick together and the sphere forms. Allow to dry and set.
- Stick Entire Circles Together: To add dimension, briefly place a fully formed sphere on the warm pan for less than a second to slightly melt its base, then press it onto another sphere to attach. Use these to decorate the cupcakes as bubbling cauldron bubbles.
- Decorate the Cupcakes: Place the finished chocolate spheres on top of black buttercream-frosted dark chocolate cupcakes to create the appearance of bubbling witch’s cauldrons.
