Scale
Bread and Spread
- 2 slices whole grain bread (Dave’s Killer Bread thin sliced Good Seed)
- 1 tablespoon light mayo
Protein and Toppings
- 3 ounces turkey breast, sliced thin (Boar’s Head)
- 2 slices center cut bacon, cut in half
Vegetables
- 2 slices ripe tomato
- 2 slices iceberg lettuce
Instructions
- Cook Bacon: Cook the bacon slices until crisp over medium heat, then drain excess fat on a paper towel to remove grease and keep the bacon crispy.
- Toast Bread and Spread Mayo: Toast the two slices of whole grain bread until golden and crisp. Spread light mayo evenly on both pieces of toasted bread to add flavor and moisture.
- Assemble Sandwich: On one slice of bread, layer one slice of iceberg lettuce first, followed by the thinly sliced turkey breast, then the tomato slices, crispy bacon, and finally the remaining lettuce slice.
- Close and Serve: Top with the other slice of bread, press gently to hold the sandwich together, then slice the sandwich in half for easy handling and enjoy immediately.
Notes
- Use Boar’s Head deli turkey sliced thin for best flavor and texture, preferably from the deli counter.
- Ensure bacon is drained of excess fat for a crisper texture and less greasiness.
- To add more crunch, consider using fresh iceberg lettuce and ripe, juicy tomatoes.
- Light mayo keeps the sandwich moist without adding too many calories.
