Description

A classic and delicious Turkey Club sandwich made with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, ripe tomato, and thinly sliced turkey breast layered between toasted whole grain bread with a light mayo spread. Perfect for a quick and satisfying lunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread and Spread

  • 2 slices whole grain bread (Dave’s Killer Bread thin sliced Good Seed)
  • 1 tablespoon light mayo

Protein and Toppings

  • 3 ounces turkey breast, sliced thin (Boar’s Head)
  • 2 slices center cut bacon, cut in half

Vegetables

  • 2 slices ripe tomato
  • 2 slices iceberg lettuce

Instructions

  1. Cook Bacon: Cook the bacon slices until crisp over medium heat, then drain excess fat on a paper towel to remove grease and keep the bacon crispy.
  2. Toast Bread and Spread Mayo: Toast the two slices of whole grain bread until golden and crisp. Spread light mayo evenly on both pieces of toasted bread to add flavor and moisture.
  3. Assemble Sandwich: On one slice of bread, layer one slice of iceberg lettuce first, followed by the thinly sliced turkey breast, then the tomato slices, crispy bacon, and finally the remaining lettuce slice.
  4. Close and Serve: Top with the other slice of bread, press gently to hold the sandwich together, then slice the sandwich in half for easy handling and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Use Boar’s Head deli turkey sliced thin for best flavor and texture, preferably from the deli counter.
  • Ensure bacon is drained of excess fat for a crisper texture and less greasiness.
  • To add more crunch, consider using fresh iceberg lettuce and ripe, juicy tomatoes.
  • Light mayo keeps the sandwich moist without adding too many calories.
