Ingredients
Scale
Bread and Butter
- 8 1/2-inch-thick slices sourdough bread
- 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Spread
- 4 oz. cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1/3 cup Nutella hazelnut spread
Toppings
- 2 cups diced strawberries
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Butter and Toast Bread: Brush one side of each sourdough bread slice with melted butter. Arrange the slices buttered side up on the prepared baking sheet. Toast in the oven for about 5 minutes until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
- Cool Toasts: Remove the toasted bread from the oven and allow it to cool completely, ensuring the toppings won’t melt or slide off.
- Prepare Nutella Cream Cheese Spread: In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or using a hand mixer and bowl, beat together the cream cheese and Nutella until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Assemble Bruschetta: Spread the Nutella and cream cheese mixture evenly over each cooled toast slice. Top generously with diced strawberries and sprinkle with toasted chopped walnuts for crunch.
- Serve: Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- To toast walnuts on the stovetop, place them in a small sauté pan over low heat. Cook while stirring frequently until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
