Description

This Smoked Salmon Pasta recipe combines tender linguini pasta with a rich and creamy lemon garlic sauce, enhanced by savory smoked salmon and briny capers. Perfect for a quick yet elegant meal, this dish is easy to prepare in about 30 minutes and offers a delightful balance of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Pasta

  • 1 lbs linguini pasta
  • 3-4 tbsp reserved pasta water (more if needed)

Sauce

  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • 6-8 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tsp salt or to taste

Additional Ingredients

  • 1 lbs smoked salmon
  • 2 tbsp capers, drained
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add linguini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water before draining the rest. Set pasta aside.
  2. Prepare the sauce: In a large saucepan or skillet, melt the salted butter over medium heat. Add chopped garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Add cream and lemon: Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a boil. Stir in the lemon juice and 3-4 tablespoons of the reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency.
  4. Thicken sauce and season: Bring the sauce to a boil again until slightly thickened. Add salt to taste, stir well, and turn off the heat.
  5. Combine pasta and sauce: Add the cooked linguini pasta directly into the saucepan with the cream sauce. Toss well to coat the pasta evenly.
  6. Add smoked salmon and capers: Use a fork to break the smoked salmon into smaller pieces and add them to the pasta along with the drained capers. Toss gently to combine all ingredients without breaking the pasta.
  7. Garnish and serve: Optionally, sprinkle chopped parsley over the pasta. Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful smoked salmon pasta!

Notes

  • Make sure the skillet or saucepan is large enough to hold both the sauce and the entire amount of pasta for tossing at the end.
