Ground Turkey Skillet:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, diced
  • 34 tbsp tomato paste
  • 3/41 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (or 3/4 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/21 tsp dried oregano (Italian seasoning can be used)
  • 1/41/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp cracked pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 11 1/2 cups cooked rice (optional)
  • Shredded cheese for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Veggies: Heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onions and peppers, cook until softened. Add garlic, cook for 1 minute.
  2. Cook Turkey: Push veggies aside, add ground turkey. Brown turkey, then mix in the veggies.
  3. Add Seasonings: Reduce heat, add tomato sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, red pepper, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Final Steps: Stir in rice if using, adjust consistency with more tomato sauce. Adjust seasoning, then serve topped with parsley and cheese.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Can substitute ground beef or chicken for turkey.
