Ground Turkey Skillet:
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 red onion, diced
- 3–4 tbsp tomato paste
- 3/4–1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, minced (or 3/4 tsp garlic powder)
- 1 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2–1 tsp dried oregano (Italian seasoning can be used)
- 1/4–1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp cracked pepper
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1–1 1/2 cups cooked rice (optional)
- Shredded cheese for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Veggies: Heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onions and peppers, cook until softened. Add garlic, cook for 1 minute.
- Cook Turkey: Push veggies aside, add ground turkey. Brown turkey, then mix in the veggies.
- Add Seasonings: Reduce heat, add tomato sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, red pepper, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Final Steps: Stir in rice if using, adjust consistency with more tomato sauce. Adjust seasoning, then serve topped with parsley and cheese.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Can substitute ground beef or chicken for turkey.
- Use a 10-12 inch skillet for best results.
