Description

This Orange Glazed Salmon recipe is a delicious and easy dish that takes less than 30 minutes to make. The combination of citrusy orange, sweet honey, and savory tamari creates a flavorful glaze that pairs perfectly with the tender salmon fillets.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 4 (6-ounce) salmon filets (Alaskan Sockeye or Coho)

Orange Glaze:

  • 1 orange juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons tamari
  • 1 teaspoon thyme finely chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste

Arrowroot Slurry:

  • 1/2 teaspoon arrowroot flour
  • 1 teaspoon water

Instructions

  1. Pat salmon dry: Pat salmon dry with a paper towel, then season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook salmon: Heat the avocado oil in a pan on medium-high heat. Add salmon and cook for 3-4 minutes each side.
  3. Prepare arrowroot slurry: While the salmon is cooking, make an arrowroot slurry by stirring together the arrowroot powder and water. Set aside.
  4. Transfer salmon: Once the salmon is cooked, transfer to a plate.
  5. Make orange glaze: Turn the heat down to medium-low and sauté the minced garlic in the pan for 30 seconds. Add the orange juice, honey, tamari, thyme, and arrowroot slurry. Whisk the ingredients together for 1-2 minutes or until slightly thickened.
  6. Finish dish: Add the salmon back to the pan and spoon glaze over salmon before serving.

Notes

  • I recommend using a seasoned cast iron pan to ensure the salmon doesn’t stick to the pan.
  • The glaze will continue to thicken on its own during the cooling process.
  • This dish is a perfect weeknight meal!
