Description

This One Pot Sausage Pasta Skillet is a quick and easy meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights. With smoky sausage, tender pasta, and a creamy cheese sauce, it’s a family favorite!


Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced green pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Additional Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (4 ounce) can green chilis
  • 2 1/2 cups uncooked rotini pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (such as colby jack)

Instructions

  1. Cook Sausage and Vegetables: In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook butter, sausage, onion, and green pepper for 5-6 minutes.
  2. Add Aromatics: Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Cook Pasta: Add chicken stock, tomatoes, green chilis, and pasta. Boil uncovered for 15-18 minutes until pasta is tender.
  4. Finish Dish: Reduce heat, stir in cream and cheese until melted. Garnish with parsley and serve.

  • Any type of shortcut pasta will work in this recipe.
  • Feel free to use different types of sausage like kielbasa, chicken, or hot sausages for variety.
