Chicken Breast

  • 500g / 1 lb chicken breast , boneless and skinless (2 pieces)
  • Salt and pepper

Breading

  • 1/4 cup flour (Note 1)

Sauce

  • 3 1/2 tbsp (50g) unsalted butter (or 2 1/2 tbsp olive oil)
  • 2 garlic cloves , minced
  • 1 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or white or other clear vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce , light or all purpose (Note 2)
  • 1/3 cup honey (or maple syrup)

Instructions

  1. Cut and Season Chicken: Cut chicken breasts in half horizontally to create 4 steaks. Season each side with salt and pepper.
  2. Bread Chicken: Coat chicken in flour, shaking off excess.
  3. Cook Chicken: Melt butter in a skillet, cook chicken until golden on both sides, then set aside.
  4. Make Sauce: In the same skillet, sauté garlic in butter. Add vinegar, soy sauce, honey, and simmer until thickened.
  5. Finish Dish: Coat chicken with sauce and serve.

Notes

  • Gluten free – use cornflour / cornstarch instead.
  • Light or all purpose soy sauce is recommended.
  • This sauce works well with various proteins like tofu, prawns, or fish.
