Description

Honey Garlic Chicken Bites are tender, juicy pieces of chicken breast coated in a flavorful garlic, honey, and soy sauce glaze with a hint of spice from red pepper flakes and hot sauce. Perfect as a quick and easy dinner served over rice, pasta, or veggies.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Coating

  • 1.5 pounds chicken breasts, chopped into bite-size pieces
  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Sauce and Cooking

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 5-6 cloves garlic, crushed or minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce or sriracha

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken pieces dry with a paper towel. In a large bowl, combine the chicken, corn starch, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to evenly coat the chicken with the seasoning and starch.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large heavy-duty pan over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken pieces to the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until the chicken is cooked through and slightly browned.
  3. Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, olive oil, honey, lemon juice, soy sauce, and hot sauce until well combined.
  4. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken in the pan. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky, coating the chicken evenly. The longer it cooks, the thicker the sauce will become.
  5. Serve: Serve the honey garlic chicken bites hot over rice, pasta, or with steamed or sautéed vegetables for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
  • You can freeze the chicken in airtight containers for up to 3 months. Texture may soften but flavor remains delicious.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce or red pepper flakes to control the spiciness.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos.
