Description

These Ham and Cheese Tortilla Roll Ups are a delicious and easy appetizer perfect for parties or snacks. Creamy ranch-seasoned cream cheese combined with sharp cheddar, ham, and green onions is spread on soft flour tortillas, rolled tightly, chilled, and sliced into bite-sized wheels. They offer a savory, cheesy, and flavorful finger food that comes together quickly without any cooking.

Ingredients

Scale

Cream Cheese Mixture

  • 16 ounces cream cheese, room temperature (2 bricks)
  • 1.5 ounces Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Seasoning Mix (1 packet)
  • ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Roll Ups

  • 5 flour tortillas
  • ½ cup finely chopped ham
  • ½ cup chopped green onion

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cream Cheese Mixture: In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, Hidden Valley Original Ranch Seasoning Mix, and shredded sharp cheddar cheese together thoroughly until evenly combined.
  2. Spread Mixture on Tortillas: Lay out each of the 5 flour tortillas and spread ⅕ of the cream cheese mixture onto each tortilla in an even ¼-inch thick layer to cover the surface.
  3. Add Ham and Onion: Evenly sprinkle the finely chopped ham and chopped green onions over the cream cheese layer on each tortilla.
  4. Roll Tortillas Tightly: Roll up each tortilla tightly from one end to the other to ensure the cream cheese mixture binds the tortilla together securely.
  5. Chill: Place the rolled tortillas in the refrigerator and chill for 1 to 2 hours until fully firm and chilled. This helps the roll-ups hold together when sliced.
  6. Slice and Serve: Remove from refrigerator and using a sharp knife, cut each rolled tortilla into ½-inch thick wheels. Serve as bite-sized appetizers.

Notes

  • This recipe yields approximately 40-50 tortilla roll-ups. A serving size is 4-5 roll-ups.
  • Soften cream cheese to room temperature before mixing for easy spreading. Low-fat or fat-free cream cheese can be used as alternatives.
  • Swap the ham for finely chopped chicken or turkey for variation.
  • Sharp cheddar cheese yields the best flavor, but other cheeses may be used to suit preference.
  • You can make your own dry ranch seasoning if desired instead of using a packet.
  • For best taste, serve the roll-ups fresh after slicing.
  • Chilling the roll-ups for 1-2 hours before slicing helps them hold together and maintain their shape.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
