Description

Halloween Slime Cupcakes are a fun and spooky dessert perfect for Halloween parties. These chocolate cupcakes are topped with a gooey, lime-flavored jello slime that’s decorated with candy eyes to create creepy slime monster treats that kids and adults will love.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cupcakes

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (any brand)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • Chocolate frosting

For the Slime Topping

  • 2 boxes lime Jell-O (large boxes)
  • 2 1/2 cups boiling water
  • Small candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Make the Jello Slime: Combine the boiling water with both boxes of lime Jell-O in a bowl, stirring thoroughly until the powder is completely dissolved.
  2. Set the Jello: Pour the liquid Jello mixture into molds and refrigerate for 2-3 hours, or until fully set and firm.
  3. Prepare the Cupcakes: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners. Mix the chocolate cake mix with eggs, vegetable oil, and water according to the package instructions. Pour the batter into the cupcake liners filling them about two-thirds full. Bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow cupcakes to cool completely.
  4. Frost the Cupcakes: Using a frosting decorating bag, pipe a swirl of chocolate frosting on top of each cooled cupcake.
  5. Assemble the Slime Monsters: Once the Jello slime is set, remove it from the molds. Use frosting to attach two candy eyes onto each slime blob, creating a monster face.
  6. Top the Cupcakes: Gently press one slime blob onto the frosting on each cupcake, using the frosting as glue to hold the slime in place.
