This Gluten-Free Christmas Chex Mix is a festive and delicious snack mix featuring a blend of Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Cheerios, gluten-free pretzels, salted peanuts, and colorful red and green M&Ms, all coated in smooth vanilla white chocolate. Perfect for holiday celebrations, this easy no-bake treat offers a delightful combination of sweet and salty flavors with a crunchy texture that’s sure to be a hit with family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale

For The Christmas Chex Mix:

  • 2 cups Rice Chex Cereal
  • 2 cups Corn Chex Cereal
  • 1 ½ cups Cheerios Cereal
  • 2 ½ cups Gluten-Free Pretzels (preferably twists)
  • 1 cup Salted Peanuts (just salted, not seasoned)
  • 1 cup Red & Green M&Ms Candy (milk chocolate or peanut butter)
  • 16 oz. Vanilla Almond Bark White Candy Melts or White Chocolate Chips

Optional, To Decorate:

  • 1-2 Tablespoons red and green sprinkles (such as nonpareils or jimmies)
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Station: Spread out a few sheets of parchment paper on a cookie sheet or your counter to create a clean, stable surface for cooling the Chex Mix.
  2. Combine The Christmas Chex Mix Ingredients: Set aside half of the M&Ms for decoration later. In a large bowl, mix together the rice Chex, corn Chex, Cheerios, gluten-free pretzels, half of the M&Ms, and salted peanuts.
  3. Melt The White Chocolate Coating: Melt vanilla almond bark or white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl using 20-30 second intervals. Stir well after each interval until the coating is smooth and lump-free. Alternatively, use a double boiler on the stovetop to melt the coating gently.
  4. Drizzle & Stir: Pour the melted white chocolate over the cereal mixture. Quickly stir to coat everything evenly before the coating begins to cool and harden.
  5. Spread Out, Sprinkle & Cool: Transfer the coated Chex Mix onto the prepared parchment paper. Immediately sprinkle the remaining M&Ms and optional red and green sprinkles over the top. Allow the mixture to cool and set, forming clusters of varying sizes for texture.
  6. Serve & Store: Once fully set, enjoy the Chex Mix immediately, or store it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

Notes

  • Hold back a handful of M&Ms to add after spreading the mix out, creating a prettier presentation by having some M&Ms visible on top.
  • Add a light sprinkle of festive nonpareils or jimmies sprinkles for a colorful, decorative touch without altering the flavor.
  • For extra visual appeal, dip ½ to ¾ cup of pretzels into the melted almond bark, sprinkle them with decorative sprinkles, and let dry separately before combining with the remaining mix.
