Main Ingredients:
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 5 chicken sausages, sliced
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups orzo pasta
- 4 cups stock (chicken or veggie)
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 handful of fresh spinach
- 2 tbsp cream
- Zest of 1 lemon
- A pinch of red pepper or chilli flakes
Instructions
- Heat up the skillet: Drizzle olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced chicken sausages and cook until golden brown and starting to crisp up.
- Sauté onion and garlic: Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until onion softens and garlic is fragrant.
- Add orzo: Stir in orzo and toast lightly for about a minute.
- Pour in stock: Add stock to the pan, bring to a boil, then simmer for 10-12 minutes until orzo is tender.
- Stir in ingredients: Mix in parmesan cheese, spinach, and cream.
- Finish and serve: Sprinkle lemon zest and chili flakes. Serve hot and enjoy!
