This Cheesy Loaded Meatloaf Casserole combines the classic flavors of meatloaf with the creamy goodness of mashed potatoes and a generous topping of cheddar cheese and bacon. A comforting and satisfying dish perfect for a cozy family dinner.

Mashed Potatoes:
- 3 cups mashed potatoes
Meatloaf Mixture:
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup finely chopped white onion
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup crumbled cooked bacon or “Bacon Bits”
- 3 minced garlic cloves
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
- Add salt and black pepper then mix in the egg and breadcrumbs.
- Press the mixture into an 8-inch square baking pan.
- Spread the mashed potatoes on top.
- Sprinkle the cheese and bacon on top of that.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Discard the foil and bake for 10 more minutes or until the cheese melts and bubbles.
- Serve hot.
Mix the beef with the garlic, onion and Worcester sauce with your hands or a couple of forks.
