Description

Ingredients

Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp liquid smoke
  • 6 dashes hot sauce of your choice (adjust to taste)

Slurry:

  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp water, room temperature

Instructions

  1. Create Slurry: In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Set aside.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Cook Sauce: Pour the mixture into a small saucepan. Whisk often while simmering over low heat for 3 minutes, avoiding boiling.
  4. Add Slurry: Incorporate the slurry mix into the sauce and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Cool and Store: Remove from heat, allow to cool, then transfer to a jar. Refrigerate overnight.
  6. Serve: Warm the sauce in a pot before serving.

Notes

  • You can adjust the level of heat by adding more or less hot sauce.
  • Store the BBQ sauce in the refrigerator for up to a week.
