Description

This Beef Taco Ring is a delicious and visually impressive appetizer or main dish, featuring seasoned ground beef wrapped in a crispy crescent roll ring, topped with cheddar cheese and served with guacamole, salsa, and shredded lettuce for dipping and garnish.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Dough

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls

Beef Filling

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 package taco seasoning

Toppings & Garnishes

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Guacamole
  • Salsa

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and taco seasoning, cooking until the beef is fully browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Preheat oven: Set your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the taco ring.
  3. Arrange the dough: On an ungreased large cookie sheet, arrange the crescent dough triangles in a ring shape, ensuring that the short sides form a 6-inch circle in the center. The dough triangles will slightly overlap each other.
  4. Add filling and cheese: Spoon the seasoned ground beef over the wide part of each dough triangle near the center of the ring, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top of the meat.
  5. Fold the dough: Bring the pointed tips of each dough triangle up over the filling and tuck these tips underneath the bottom layer of dough to secure the ring closure.
  6. Bake the ring: Place the cookie sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the crescent roll dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Cool and serve: Allow the taco ring to cool for about 5 minutes before slicing to avoid the filling spilling out. Place a bowl of guacamole and salsa in the center of the ring for dipping. Garnish with shredded lettuce if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Adjust the amount of taco seasoning based on your preferred spice level.
  • Serve immediately after baking for the best texture and flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness.
